GPJ Mobile Application Privacy Statement

At George P. Johnson Company (“GPJ, “we” or “us”) we respect the privacy of GPJ Mobile Application users (“users”, “you” or “your”). We have created this Mobile Application Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) to inform you of our information collection, use, storing, sharing and protection of your Personal Information from or related to your use of GPJ Mobile Application (the “App”).

BY DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, ACCESSING, OR OTHERWISE USING THE APP, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND CONSENT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION AS DESCRIBED IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT FURTHER ACCESS OR CONTINUE TO OTHERWISE USE THE SERVICE.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

“Personal Information” means information that alone or when in combination with other information may be reasonably expected to permit a third party to readily identify, contact, or locate you, such as: name, address, email address, or phone number. We only collect such Personal Information you voluntarily provide to us. Personal Information does not include anonymized information that does not allow a third party to reasonably identify a specific individual.

Information that We May Collect

We may collect the following information and other data through the App:

• Personal Information you may provide to download and use the App, including data about your geographic location;
• Information about your usage of the App, including crash logs and usage statistics;
• Information about your device and its interaction with the App, including the type and model of mobile device you use with the App, its unique user ID, its IP address, the operating system, and the type of mobile internet browsers in use;
• The following LinkedIn & Facebook account information if you choose to complete your profile in the App through those services: name, Facebook or LinkedIn IDs, profile picture, email address, job, location, company and “friends” (for Facebook) or “connections” (for LinkedIn) list;
• Information about your interactions in the App, both text and media files.

How We Use Your Information

We may use information that we receive:

• to review the quality and improve the functionality of the App;
• to diagnose or fix technology problems
• to better improve the way the App works with your device;
• to create new Apps;
• to automatically update the App on your device
• for advertising and marketing purposes
• provide anonymized user analytics and industry benchmarking; and
• share anonymized data with third parties.

You will be provided with the opportunity to opt-in to any advertising or marketing materials we send outside of the use of the App prior to us sending any advertising or marketing materials.

In addition, we may use information gathered from your profiles on LinkedIn, Twitter or other social networks for profile completion, identification and social interaction during the event. If you login to the App using a social network, your contacts or friends that also login to the App for the same event through the same social network may receive a notification that you are also attending the event. If you don’t want to share your attendance with your friends list, you should not log in using a social network.

The app may allow an event attendee to take photographs at the event and post them to a closed feed available to event attendees. The event attendee is solely responsible for such actions.

Information about your interactions in the App will be used by us, together with your identification data populated at the launch of the App or loaded from LinkedIn or Facebook for statistical purposes to understand the public and companies that attended the event and where they are from.

Protection for Children

We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal information from children under 13 years of age. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at privacy@digital.gpj.de. We will delete such information from our files.

Use of App Tracking

The App will always ask for permissions to access certain information or device capabilities in order to provide a rich user experience at the event. Permissions include:

• News push notifications for relevant updates throughout the event
• GPS data if you access map information
• Access to your camera roll/photos or LinkedIn for attendee profile image
• Access to social networks for posting on external platforms e.g. Twitter

GPJ may collect your specific responses from this app in order to help us better tailor our interactions with you.

If you consented to using a beacon/tracker within the event, the information collected will be used to suggest event content that may be of interest and/or suggest other offers or programs unrelated to the event that may be of interest.

Use of Cookies and Web Tracking

We may use cookies and/or tacking technology through this App. Cookies are small files placed on your computer. Cookies help analyze web traffic, provide information about your use of a website and help websites work more efficiently by responding to you as an individual (such as tailoring operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering your preferences). Cookies provide us with technical information and do not collect personally identifiable information (except your IP address). We offer certain features that are available only through the use of cookies. Cookies in our software products can be turned off in the product itself. However, if you decline cookies, you may not be able to use certain features of the App.

We do not store your username, password or your Personal Information in a cookie.

We may use web beacons or other technologies which are typically small graphic objects or pixels that are embedded in a web page. We may also use various analytic tools to measure how users interact with our website and content. As users navigate between various web pages, analytic tools provide us with tags to record information about the page the user has seen or done on previous pages / interactions with the App. The website does not currently respond to do not track and similar settings, but will respect and respond to browser level settings about the acceptance or rejection of cookies.

In addition, other parties may collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different Web sites when you use the Service. This Privacy Policy does not apply to, and we are not responsible for, those other parties. Please see the sections of this Privacy Policy entitled “Sharing Your Information” and “Third Parties” for more detail on how we interact with third parties with respect to your information.

Sharing Your Information

We will not sell, rent or lease your Personal Information to others except as described in this policy. GPJ shares Personal Identifiable Information in the following ways:

We may employ third-party vendors and service providers to facilitate the App and related services, to perform App-related services (e.g., without limitation, maintenance services, database management, web analytics and improvement of the App’s features) or to assist us in analyzing how our App is used. These third parties have access to information that we collect from App users only to perform these tasks on our behalf and will only use your information to the extent necessary to perform their functions.

We may disclose Personal Information about your use of the App to our customer(s) for marketing purposes.

We may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of our assets, including your Personal Information collected from App users, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, receivership, or transition of service to another provider. The use of your Personal Information following any of the foregoing events should be governed by the provisions of this Privacy Policy in effect at https://digital.gpj.de/product/privacy/ on the date the sale, transfer or other sharing of our assets occurred.

We cooperate with government and law enforcement officials and private parties to enforce and comply with the law. We will access, preserve and disclose any Personal Information collected from App users to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal process (including but not limited to subpoenas), to protect the property and rights of GPJ or a third party, to protect the safety of the public or any person, or to prevent or stop activity we may consider to be, or to pose a risk of being, any illegal, unethical or legally actionable activity.

We may also disclose your Personal Information with your permission.

Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information

We will retain your Personal Information for as long as you use the App and for a reasonable time thereafter. We will retain automatically collected information for up to 12 months or longer and thereafter may store it in the aggregate. If you would like us to delete the Personal Information that you have provided via the App, please contact us at privacy@digital.gpj.de and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Security and Retention

The security of your Personal Information is very important to us. We have put in place reasonable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our App.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please be aware that the possibility exists that third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or Personal Information. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your Personal Information or other information. As such, by using the App, you acknowledge that the potential for unauthorized access exists, and that you have agreed to assume this risk.

Third Parties

The App may integrate with or contain links to other websites and services. An integrated third-party service or sites has their own privacy statements and terms of conditions that we do not control. We encourage you to review these statements and terms and contact the third party with any questions. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or other actions of these third parties.

Individual Rights

Any Personal Information collected by or through our App will be used only for the purpose it was provided and as described in this Notice. Once Personal Information is no longer necessary, we will destroy the Personal Information in accordance with its record retention and destruction policy.

Some jurisdictions (state, federal, national and international), such as California and the European Economic Area (under the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”)), provide individuals with certain rights regarding their Personal Information. To exercise any rights your jurisdiction may provide, contact us at privacy@digital.gpj.de. As examples, GDPR provides European residents with the following individual rights.

• Being informed about your Personal Information. You may have the right to understand what Personal Information we collect about you, where and how we receive Personal Information about you, as well as how we use and share that Personal Information. This Notice provides you with this information.
• Viewing and obtaining a copy of the Personal Information we maintain about you.
• Amending or revising the Personal Information we maintain about you.
• Having the Personal Information we keep about you erased (also known as the right to be forgotten).
• Objecting to the use of your Personal Information for direct marketing.
• Restricting our use of the Personal Information we maintain about you.
• Transferring the Personal Information we maintain about you to another entity.
• Objecting to our use of the Personal Information we maintain about you.
• Objecting to automated decision making or profiling. We do not make automated decisions about you and do not profile individuals who visit our Site.
• Filing a complaint with us or the appropriate governmental entity.

We will provide you with the same products and services at the same price, regardless of whether you choose to exercise any of your individual rights, unless the exercise of your rights (such as the right to be forgotten) make it impractical to provide the same product or service.

We may require that you verify your identity before exercising your individual rights.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy at https://digital.gpj.de/product/privacy/. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes.

Process to End Data Collection

You can stop all collection of information by the App easily by uninstalling the App. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

Your Consent

By using the App, you are consenting to our processing of user provided and automatically collected information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. “Processing” means using cookies on a computer/hand held device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information, all of which activities will take place in the United States. If you reside outside of the United States your information will be transferred to the United States, and processed and stored there under U.S. privacy standards. By using the App and providing information to us, you consent to such transfer to, and processing in, the United States.
